Sternglas is one of the very few Instagram-heavy watch brands that actually produces a good product. I reviewed them right at the beginning of Ben’s Watch Club, and they’ve only gone from strength to strength with a vast array of new releases in the past few years.
While their quality is not industry-leading (as is usually the case with microbrands), their Bauhaus-inspired designs are extremely enticing, second only to big hitters in this category, such as Junghans (which cost way more).
I wasn’t fond of the overpriced Kanton, but both the quartz and automatic versions of the Naos prevent far better value for money. The Naos won the iF Design Award in 2020, and it’s no surprise why…it’s a looker!
This is a fantastic choice if you’re after an attractive, minimalist watch to improve your style. It offers superior build quality and aesthetics to competing fashion brands like MVMT, Daniel Wellington, and Vincero, who also advertise heavily on social media. In fact, the Naos range comes fitted with one of the best leather bands you’ll find on an affordable watch!
I’d probably recommend the quartz option for most of you reading, as it’s extremely thin (just 6mm), whereas the automatic is 12mm. These days, Sternglas offers the Naos in a wide range of colors, and you can grab the quartz option in either 38mm or 42mm sizing, so ensure you order the right one!
